WinZis
A laboratory information system for cytology, histopathology and genetics labs. It covers the whole path of a specimen — from receiving the request to release and delivery of the result.
System core
What WinZis does
We have developed and refined WinZis to labs’ requirements continuously since 1995. Today it is used by the largest private laboratories in Czechia and Slovakia, as well as university hospitals.
Examination card file
Records of all examination types with sophisticated search across all years, entry via dedicated forms and insertion of standard texts using shortcuts.
States and workflow
Each examination automatically moves through states from header entry to release. The program checks completeness and correctness before closing.
Printing and delivery
Batch and pickup printing plus automated delivery of results to clinicians in XML. Additional notes are automatically reprinted and re-sent.
Image documentation
Automatic display of request-form scans and the option to attach images and digital photos directly to an examination.
Communication and notes
Logging of phone communication, printing of letters and storing internal notes for each examination.
Integration with surroundings
Two-way communication with analyzers, hospital information systems and national healthcare registries.

Cervix
Cervical cancer screening
A dedicated form for cervical cancer screening, available in the Screening examination type — both in the screening reading and in the examination detail. It includes export to the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses of Masaryk University.

Molecular genetics
A standalone application for processing molecular genetics tests, tightly integrated with the WinZis laboratory information system. In WinZis, a biopsy examination creates an internal request that generates a molecular test, which is processed in MolGen; the result is then printed and billed in WinZis as usual.

Antibody records and test ordering
Recording of antibodies and ordering of immunohistochemistry tests by the physician. Antibodies are grouped into panels structured to the ordering physicians’ needs, and the workflow is tailored to each laboratory.

Reporting to the National Cancer Registry
A module for structured processing of oncology reports for the National Cancer Registry directly in the WinZis laboratory information system. A completed report is printed on the result sheet and sent to the registry automatically.

Barcode specimen tracking
Records of specimens, blocks and slides with barcode printing and scanning. Scanning the codes tracks material movement through the whole lab; codes are printed on request forms and on the material.

Two-way communication between WinZis and laboratory instruments using the HL7 protocol and other connectors. Instruments send messages with test and sample results that are written automatically into the relevant examinations.

Death examination certificate
A module for creating death examination certificates and exporting them to the Institute of Health Information and Statistics in XML DASTA4 format. Certificates from the hospital information system are created from a request, external ones manually; the form contains only the data submitted to the authority.
